Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used and shared when you use KOVERAGE, including the KOVERAGE website, public Gamecast pages, the Broadcast Console and the KOVERAGE mobile application (together, the “Service”).

Please read it together with our Terms of Service. By using KOVERAGE you acknowledge the practices described here.

2. About KOVERAGE and Torro, LLC

KOVERAGE is a product and brand of Torro, LLC. KOVERAGE is not a separate legal entity. References to “KOVERAGE,” “we,” “us” and “our” mean Torro, LLC operating the KOVERAGE service.

3. Information We Collect

KOVERAGE is built to require as little personal information as possible. You do not need an account to cover a game, and you do not need an account to watch one. We collect:

• Content you submit as part of covering a game (described in sections 4, 6 and 7).
• A random device identifier we generate to keep broadcast access working (section 5).
• Technical information that is created automatically when any internet service is used, such as server and connection logs (section 5).

We do not currently operate user accounts, and we do not ask for your name, postal address, phone number or date of birth. We do not use advertising identifiers, device fingerprinting or third-party advertising or marketing trackers.

4. Information Users Provide

When you create or cover a game, you provide information such as:

• The sport and the two team names you enter.
• Scores and score changes.
• Game state, such as period or half labels, and whether a game is live, paused or final.
• Written commentary and updates you post to the timeline.
• Photos you take or select and post (section 7).

Everything in this list is content intended to be shown on the public Gamecast page for that game. Treat anything you type or post as visible to anyone who has the game link.

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message, and we use it to respond to you.

6. Game and Sports Coverage Information

Games, timeline events (score changes, commentary, photos, status changes), teams entered for a game, and related event/venue records are stored in our database so a Gamecast can be displayed, restored and shared. Timeline history is retained as a record of the game even where an individual item is later removed or corrected, so that a game’s history remains coherent.

KOVERAGE does not ask for, and you should not enter, player names, jersey numbers tied to identifiable children, home addresses, contact details, medical information or school records.

7. Photos and Media

When a broadcaster posts a photo:

• the photo is taken with the camera or chosen from the device photo library, only after you tap Camera or Photo — KOVERAGE never requests those permissions at launch;
• the image is resized (to a long edge of about 1600 pixels) and re-encoded on your device before it is uploaded, which also removes the original file metadata, including EXIF and GPS location data;
• the processed image is uploaded to private, access-controlled storage operated for KOVERAGE, and is served only through KOVERAGE at an unguessable address — the underlying storage location and filename are not exposed;
• the photo appears in that game's timeline and is visible to anyone who has that game's link;
• the broadcaster can remove a posted photo, which deletes the stored image file (the timeline keeps a record that an item was posted and removed); and
• if a photo cannot be uploaded (for example, no signal at the venue), it is stored on your own device as a pending update, together with its commentary, until it is sent, you cancel it, or you delete the app. The pending copy is the already-processed image, so metadata and GPS remain stripped.

8. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• create, operate and display Gamecasts and the Broadcast Console;
• deliver realtime updates to spectators;
• maintain broadcaster access, broadcast sessions, takeover rules and recovery;
• store and serve photos posted to a game;
• generate shareable links and share graphics for a game;
• maintain security, prevent and investigate abuse, and enforce our Terms;
• diagnose and fix problems and improve the Service; and
• comply with law and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use targeted advertising.

9. Realtime Gamecasts and Sharing

Coverage is designed to be distributed. When a broadcaster posts an update, it is transmitted to everyone currently viewing that Gamecast and is stored as part of the game. When anyone shares a game link, the recipient can open the Gamecast without an account and can share it onward.

KOVERAGE generates a branded preview graphic for each game. It contains only team names, sport, score, game state and KOVERAGE branding. It never contains recovery codes, broadcaster identifiers or other credentials.

10. Public and Unlisted Games

Games are unlisted by default and are not listed in a public KOVERAGE directory, and Gamecast pages ask search engines not to index them. Unlisted does not mean confidential. Anyone who has or obtains the link can view the Gamecast and can pass it to others, post it publicly or take screenshots. Do not post anything to a Gamecast that you need to keep private.

11. Social Sharing and Third-Party Platforms

KOVERAGE offers Copy Link, your device’s own share sheet, and shortcuts for Facebook, X, Instagram Stories and messaging apps. When you share to another platform, that platform receives the link (and, for a Story, the image you choose to post) and its own terms and privacy practices apply to what happens next. Social platforms fetch and cache the public preview graphic and page description for a shared link.

Shared links may include simple attribution parameters (such as utm_source) that tell us which share option a visit came from. These do not identify you.

12. Service Providers

We rely on service providers that process information on our behalf to run KOVERAGE. They are permitted to use it only to provide services to us. Current categories are:

• application hosting and content delivery for the website and Gamecast pages;
• backend database, realtime messaging and file/object storage for games, timelines and photos;
• development, deployment and error-reporting infrastructure for the application; and
• Apple platform services when you use the iOS app (for example app distribution, and the device features you invoke such as the camera, photo library and share sheet).

Social platforms and messaging apps you choose to share to are not our service providers — they are independent recipients of what you share.

13. Cookies and Local/Native Storage

KOVERAGE does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use local storage on the web, and app storage in the iOS app, to keep:

• the random device identifier;
• a short list of games you have covered and which game you were last in;
• a game's recovery code temporarily in session storage immediately after creation, so it can be revealed to you; and
• any pending update, including its photo, until it is delivered or cancelled.

Our providers may set strictly necessary cookies or equivalent tokens required to operate and secure the Service. You can clear this data through your browser or by deleting the app, which may end your broadcaster access to existing games.

14. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, and then delete or de-identify it. In practice:

• games, their timelines and their session records are retained indefinitely so that a shared Gamecast keeps working, unless we remove them or you ask us to;
• a photo removed by a broadcaster is deleted from storage; the timeline entry recording that an item was posted remains;
• pending updates stored on your device are removed once delivered or cancelled, and go away if you delete the app;
• infrastructure logs are retained for a limited period by our providers under their standard practices; and
• residual copies may persist for a period in routine backups before being overwritten.

We have not set fixed retention periods beyond this; if we adopt them, we will update this policy.

15. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including server-side authorisation for every change to a game, database access rules, private (non-public) media storage served only through KOVERAGE, randomly generated and unguessable game and media addresses, one-way hashing of recovery codes, and validation of the type and size of uploaded files. No service can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed or disclosed in a way that this policy does not describe.

16. Children's Privacy

KOVERAGE is frequently used to cover youth sports. There is an important distinction between people who use KOVERAGE and people who appear in coverage.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create games, broadcast, or otherwise use KOVERAGE’s creation features. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided us personal information can write to koverage@torro.io.

Children may of course be depicted in photos or referred to in coverage posted by adults. That content is submitted by the user, not collected by us from the child. Users who post content involving minors must have the right and any necessary permission to share it, and must not post sensitive information about minors such as home addresses, contact details, medical information, school records or personal schedules. See the Terms for these obligations, and contact us at koverage@torro.io to request removal of content involving a child.

Watching a shared Gamecast does not require an account, and we do not ask spectators for their age or date of birth.

17. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

You can:

• remove a photo or correct a score or update from the Broadcast Console;
• stop using the Service and clear KOVERAGE data from your device at any time;
• decline camera and photo library permissions and keep using scores and commentary; and
• ask us to delete a game and its content by emailing koverage@torro.io.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, to request portability, or to appeal a decision. Contact us at koverage@torro.io. Because KOVERAGE does not maintain accounts, we may need additional information — such as the game code and the device identifier or recovery code — to locate the information your request concerns, and we may be unable to verify a request without it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

18. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Several U.S. states give residents rights over personal information, and those laws apply to businesses that meet specific thresholds. Whether or not a particular statute applies to Torro, LLC, we handle requests as described in section 17 and we confirm that:

• we do not sell personal information;
• we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising;
• we do not use personal information for targeted advertising; and
• we do not use personal information for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information. Note that photos you post may incidentally contain information about identifiable people; that content is under your control as described above.

19. International Users

KOVERAGE is operated from the United States and information is processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. If you use KOVERAGE from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

We do not claim any certification or formal transfer mechanism under the GDPR or UK data protection law. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and have a question or request about your information, contact koverage@torro.io and we will respond as required by applicable law.

20. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as KOVERAGE develops. We will change the “Last updated” date above, and where a change is material we will provide additional notice where required by law. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
